Training for Factories

One-on-one training is a major component of INFACT’s scope of work. When a factory program or policy is revised, education and communication within the factory is necessary to ensure smooth implementation of the new changes. A revised system has the highest potential for success when factory management and employees understand their new responsibilities. Topics that may require training include payroll calculation, incentive structures for employees, monthly fire safety equipment maintenance, warehouse management, as well as any other factory system identified for improvement.

Small-group training allows for smooth transitions of new ideas and functions within a factory. Production teams receiving productivity or management system training as a group learn to collaborate; cross-training increases the likelihood of a successful implementation. Small-group training works well for educating EH&S management committees, worker representatives, or Human Resource teams while a factory implements improvement plans.

INFACT uses group training sessions to communicate any announcement to factory personnel. Group training is used to educate workers on rights and responsibilities, payroll calculation, revised policies and procedures and many other topics.

INFACT can also assist a factory in developing internal training programs. Train the trainer programs can be developed using factory-specific materials as a way of building internal training competence. Many factories use these services to create new-hire training and continued worker education programs.

Specialized training in root-cause analysis provides factories with valuable Compliance Management Team expertise. INFACT consultants have extensive experience in training workers to quickly determine the underlying cause of an identified issue, develop a plan to remediate the issue, implement the corrective action, check the effectiveness of the plan, and continually assess its effectiveness. Root cause analysis can also help to indicate whether outside help is necessary or if the issue should be managed internally.

“There is a real need for reliable, practical support to factories trying to raise their competitiveness in a socially responsible way. That said, there are not many resources buyers and suppliers can turn to for such support so the creation of INFACT is a very timely and welcome development.”
